Im up to my ears in poo

Ok so yesterday I posted about our potty training attempts, remember?  I left the out a tidbit of the day out of the story because it defiantly needs its own post.

So if you remember, I ran out of big kid panties/undies and resulted to putting them both in pull ups. They sat down and watched some TV (I was doing dishes, dont judge) before they went down for their nap.

I made the decision to put them in a diaper because A, pull ups leak when full and B, I didnt want to strip beds and have them sleep in poo, pee, or the combo of the two.

They walked to their room and started to go to sleep.  For about 20 minutes, silence.  Pure silence.  YEA, I sat down and started to read my book.  Then I heard it.  Elyse was screaming at the top of her lungs.  She does this often in her sleep so I let it go.  After a few minutes she didnt let up so I thought I should go check on them.

I slowly opened the door and I am greeted with 2, TWO, naked kids standing at the edges of their bed.

"Dang yall, where are your diapers"
They both point.
This is Coles diaper.
Here is Elyses.  (Which I may point out was about 5 feet from her bed, how she got it IN the bucket, I dont know)
I looked at them both and say "Well how did yall do that"
Elyse screams, "Elyse stinks, Elyse stinks"

I prepared myself to be picking up poo-filled diapers. As I bent down, as though she knew, she yelled "MOMMMMY Elyse bed STINKS"

I go "Huh"

Before I could do anything Elyse informed me that Coles bed stinks too.  He hadnt said a word since I walked in, only pushing his tiny little self against the edge of the bed.

And then I saw it.
Cole left me this:
And Elyse left me this:
Oh thats right, turds
Turds EVERYWHERE.

His was 2 large ones that barley flushed.  Hers was the length on my hand.  I was completely grossed out but started laughing hysterically because the two of them were pinning themselves against the bed, completely AWAY from the poo.  Elyse kept saying "Mommuy, bed stink , bed stink"

So what did I do?  Grabbed the camera (Im horrible but itll be payback when they are 16)

After I cleaned it up, nap time was over even before it started.

About an hour later, I called my mom.
"Mom, you wanna know what your grand daughter and son did?"
"Oh Lord what?"
"Elyse, tell Gramma what you did/"

Elyse, "Hi Gramma"
My Mom: "What did you do today?
Elyse " I pooped bed, Cole pooped bed, bed stinks.  Bye Bye, see you next time"

At least she got the logistics right.
Now if she would just strip off her diaper and go in the TOILET.

Poo, Spools, and Fireworks

This weekend went by so fast.  Friday night, we went out with friends from out of town.  Of course, we ate Mexican food.  It was sooooooooooooo good.  Do you now what these are?

Chips and salsa.  I have a problem with this food.  No matter how full I am, if there are chips in front of me, I eat them.  I lick the bowl clean and drink the salsa.  I have a problem. Friday was different.  I said NO to chips thanks to my 101 in 1001 things.  Not one chip entered my mouth, Not one morsel of salt (from the chips) touched my lips.  #53, in the bag.

After dinner, we headed home so we could get ready for our weekend trip to Tyler to visit the Grandparents.  Love it out there, fresh food, fresh air, limited cell phone coverage, its just what is needed.

We got off to a late start.  They needed a bath.  I got them naked and went to change Elyse.  Cole was in the tub, with a floater.  Yup, he pooped right in the tub.  So after bleaching the tub and all the toys and a brief stop to get some jeans for the kids, we were on our way.  When we got there, the kids were shy at first, like always and then warmed up and wouldnt sit still.  Who knew empty spools of thread could entertain kids so well?

We gave them apple pie.  Talk about a SUGAR RUSH so we then decided to take a walk.

They loved being free and able to explore everything.  He liked to run up and down and side to side as she picked up sticks.
We walked past this sign and they thought it was hilarious to make noise by banging on it and play peek-a-boo with each other.

We were entertained, they relaxed.

As it got dark, the fireworks started.  It was a kids birthday aroudn the corner so we got to enjoy the show as well.

Cole didnt take his eyes off of the sky.

Elyse kept saying "Momma, I see it, I see it"

They were exhausted and we headed home.

Sunday was just as uneventful.  I went to work, for a minute.  It was quick and painless.  I did Yoga again.  It was so much better than the last time.  There was a whole bunch of people at different levels.  I was sweating and Im a little sore today, so I guess I was doing it right.  Im definlty going to be doing this weekly.  Also, Im back in gear for my training.  With being sick, running was NOT my prioity.  Im back and I am scheduled to do 9 miles this weekend.  We will see how taking off for a week will affect me, hopefully not too much.

How was your weekend?  Eventful?  Two days of nothing?
One of these days, I will do that but I doubt it will be anytime soon.

Does anyone else find this weird?

Im a first time mom,  Ive read all the books but this baffles me.  I have never heard or seen any kid do this.  I dont think its hurting her but I think its strange.  You be the judge.

That my friends is a baby wipe.  She is constantly putting them in her mouth and chewing on them.  When we wipe her face, her tongue comes out and she licks it as it passes her lips.  Im assuming it tastes good, why else would she do this?  I find it strange but oddly cute.

So, should I be worried or just continue to take pictures?

A gift comes in all forms

Ive said it time and time again, boys are different from girls.  Im not talking about the physical parts, but just about the part of how they act.

In general, this is how it is.  Girls play with dolls and like pink.  Boys are rough and like getting dirty.  For the most part, this is true in our house.

With exceptions of course.

Cole does NOT like to be dirty.  He has been this way from day one.  We tried to put him in the grass and he freaked out.  Elyse on the other hand loves to get dirty and rolls around on the ground every chance she gets.    He does play with trucks and she does play with dolls.  He is a brick house and she is dainty (somewhat)

I do have a point, I promise.

Our cats hate us.  They have attitudes.  If they dont get fed when they want, they yell at the door.  Yes I said yell.  If they are locked out of the bedroom, they poop on the floor right by the door so we see it right when we wake up.  If we are gone to long, poop on the floor.  If the litter box is not cleaned to their expectations...you guessed it, they poop on the floor.

Elyse will find it and yell "Mommy EWWWW" as she bends over looking at it from a distance of a few inches.  Sweet girl, she would never touch it but shell get as close as she can to it.

Then there is Cole.  Curious Cole.  We came home and hes playing as he always does and I hear giggles.  I have now learned that silence+immediate giggles=trouble  So I check on them, they are playing sweetly.  About 10 minutes later, Cole runs up  to me hands full and says something that Im sure only he understood but Im guessing was something to the words of here or see or look.  He opens his hand and voila.  Thats right big OL' CAT TURD is laid in my lap.  He then smiles and looks at me for approval of his gift.  I jump up and yell "EWW COLE NO NO We do NOT play with cat poop"  He gives me this look that tells me he understands and then I hear "No poop, no poop, no poop" followed by giggles as he runs away to chase his sister.

I guess this is what I get to look forward to.
Sweet innocent gifts
Even if it is poop.

Puddles of Pee

Last night I was headed out to the gym and the hubs asked me if the kiddos needed a bath.  I said yes and he asked for help.
He stripped E and asked me if I would strip C
“Why”
“Shes naked”
“So”
“Well shes naked”
“And let her be naked……C come here”
So I grab C and say “Oh C, did you go potty?” And he smiles.  And I say “C did you go poo-poo?” And he says “Poo-poo?”
Just then I hear E saying “Mommy, potty, Mommy, potty”
“Yes, C went potty”
“Mommy, potty, mommy, potty”
At this time, I decided to look out the door to see what she is doing.  I look and all I see is her squatting in the middle of the hallway yelling “Potty potty potty” Just then she stands up and I see it.
The puddle.
Of Pee.
And I can say, “Baby girl you have to go potty in the toilet” and she responds “Potty, ok.” And takes off to the bathroom, slipping…..in her pee.  After slipping she says “Eww mommy, ewwww” and then gets on all fours to crawl over it like a monkey so she does not touch anymore.
So now one of my children has poo-ed in the tub and made a pee puddle.  Who would have thought it would have been her instead of him.

Poo Shoes

I picked up the kids from daycare and dreaded hearing what they did that day. There's always a story with the two of them.  SURPRISE, nothing out of the ordinary.  E screams like a girl and C throws things and plays in water and thinks its hilarious.  I was hoping for an uneventful night, but with these two , no way.

As Im cooking dinner (spaghetti squash with roasted zucchini and broccoli) I hear giggling from the other room. As cute as it is and as much as it makes me smile, its never good.

Let me back track. A few weeks ago, we bought the kids some shoes.  They are in size 4 (which we had none) and they actually kept them on.  We headed to Payless (Im cheap and they will grow to fast to buy expensive ones) and found these CUUUUTE shoes for E.

I was so excited to find them (for $5 mind you) I had to get them.  Perfect summer shoes for a little girl, right?

Fast forward to last night.  I walk in the living room and they are both on the couch falling over laughing historically.  I look closer, she has her shoe in her mouth.  This does not seem like a big deal.  She chews, says mmmm then laughs..

Chew
Yummmmm
Giggle

Thats when I noticed a dark something on the bottom. Can you tell where Im going with this?  Thats right, you guessed it. She had POO stuck in the botton of her shoe.  POO that she was CHEWING on and saying YUMMMMMM.

Gross
Yuck
EWW

Bath time it was.
