Black Friday

Do you do Black Friday?  I mean REALLY do Black Friday.  As in stand in line at 2AM in the cold shivering to get items for dirt cheap?  Every year, I stalk the ads, make lists, and plan a schedule.  Me and a friend of mine usually go but this year I went with my mom and sister.

Yes we are the crazy people that schedule which store we go to when and where we should camp out and bring a cooler with food and drinks to get us through the day. Yes we are the people who stand in line for 2 hours in the cold for a specific item.  Yes are the people that make a game plan to have all of us split up in sections of the store, grab items for each of us, communicate through cell phones and meet back and swap what each of us want.  Yes, we are part of the crazies.

This year was a little different. Instead of stores opening at midnight, some opened at 10 PM on Thanksgiving night.  So what did we do?

Thats right, we headed out at 830 to start our day...errr  night.  We ended our day at 1 pm on Friday.  Count that up.  Its 17 hours of shopping and it was so much fun.

Now as fun as it was, we were tired.  Here are some things that we learned during those 17 hours while waiting for stores to open.  Please remember we were sleep deprived.
  •  Santa's real name is Billy
  • Chapstick does not go on your armpits
  • Yelling Hello 10 times in some high pitched british accent will not make the sonic drive thru answer and faster
  • When a Staple gun is pulled, you will jump15 ft even if its inside packaging, not loaded with staples
  • She is a boy, He is a girl
  • You become friends with people who hoard towels
  • Gum can be a great bargaining tool
  • Nothing is worth going to jail for no matter how cheap it is (seriously, the girl was escorted out by the cops and was walking to the cop car, dont know what happened but still)
  • If you tell people you are from out of town, which we were, they will bend the rules
  • People are psychos for sheets
And Finally,
  • Dont let little old ladies fool you, they can run fast and will push you out of the way with their cart faster than you can ask for a piece of candy.
All in all, it was another successful shopping day.  I got all the things I planned on buying, and a few more, and now MOST of my Christmas shopping is complete.

So, did you black Friday?
What was the best thing you got?

A little distraction

Ok so I have a ton to catch all you up on, BUT, Ive been out of work since Tuesday and Im playing catch  up like a mad woman.  Here is something to tide you over.

We got new hats for 'winter'  (Not sure how cold itll get here but it was freeeeeeezing this morning).  I love sock monkeys so I had a friend of mine make me some for the kids.  This is the day they came in the mail.

They are a little blurry because they wouldnt sit still (surprise surprise)

Here is a video where Elyse tells you Cole is a monkey, gets distracted,  then they talk and she goes to get something for him.  What, I have no idea, twin talk I guess.

Blog Swap

So I mentioned a few weeks back that I was participating in a 101 in 1001 Days blog swap that is hosted by Holly over at Perfectly Imperfect  This swap was easy and simple, and who doesnt like getting gifts?  Basically, you are paired up with a parnter and you send them something to help them cross off items from their list and then , of course, blog about it.

I was paired with Kasey from Domesticated Hygienist, you can see her list here. Go ahead and go on over there and check her out.  I forgot to mention to her that Im ATTEMPTING to boost her blog so she can cross another off her list.  (Get to 100 followers, right now shes at 68)

On Friday, I checked my mail. (I only check it once a week because all thats ever there is bills, did I mention I like gifts?)  The package had arrived and this is what was in the inside.

There is a book, that I dont have, that I can count towards my ABC books.  Im hoping its good, Im sure it wont disappoint.

The coloring book is awesome.  When I was coming up with the list and ran out of ideas, I started thinking of things I could do with the kids.  They love color.  So I thought, hey Ill color a book while they color and it will be fun for everyone (insert cheesy after school special music here)  BUT Who knew it would be difficult to find a coloring book that wasnt ginormous or full of stickers or something would be so hard.  This coloring book is great and Ill get started right on it, if Elyse doesnt steal it first.

Im linking up over at Perfectly Imperfect, what did everyone else get?

Same place every year

I have two more things to check off my 101 in 1001 day list.

To start, I cleared out my closet.  It needed to be done so I sat down and did it finally.  After 3 bags of clothes going to a friend and 2 bags going to donations, my closet is clear.  I could probably still get rid of a lot but, honestly, I dont want to.  Ill eventually phase all my t-shirts out and get all grown up clothes but thats not happening right now.  The goal, clear it out.  #97 Complete.  (Ill take a picture tonight and update this in the morning)

Now for the second one.  This one took  a year.  Yes 12 months to complete.  #78 was to take a picture of the same place once a month for 12 months.  I decided to pick a place that was easy to get to and would show some change.  So here it goes.

101 in 1001 Update

Ok so Im a little behind on posting 101 updates so Im gonna make this short and sweet so its noted.

Last Friday I got a Hot Stone Massage and it was....different.
No this is not me, I couldnt ask the guy to take a picture of me while he did this, thats weird.

Anyway, it felt great, dont get me wrong.  The only complaint I have is that when the guy would start rubbing (that sounds wrong) it would start to feel good then he would stop and go somewhere else.  I blame him but I blame me.  I should have told him in the beginning where EXACTLY to focus.  It was great but not something I would do all the time.  Ill take a regular massage any day.

There was one thing that was AMAZING

Thats right, in my toes.  Im so flipping tickle-ish, I cant ever sit still.  This was awesome.  Something about the heat made my feet relax and allowed him to massage the heck out of them. Yea for toes.

On another note, today is 11-11-11
So at 11:11 AM Im making the ULTIMATE wish.

ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNND
Close Eyes

Done.

I will not share because it will not come true.
Id ask what you wished for, but I would expect for you not to tell me either.

Pumpkin Patch, Round 2

You may remember last week when I posted a ton of pictures of the kids with character cut outs?  These cut outs were at the second pumpkin patch that we went too.  This place was awesome.  We will defiantly be going again next year.  Here is some more from that day.

I finally managed to get both kids to sit for more than a few seconds to get a picture ON a pumpkin.

We went down some slides,

We played with the pigs,

We re-arranged the pumpkins,

We made our way through a hay maze,

And of course we ate snow cones.

In the end we tried to relax,

And who wouldnt in a my-size swing?
